We’ve all been there. We feel, hear and know the wisdom of our connection with the Divine and decide we KNOW better.
You receive guidance—an intuitive nudge, a whisper from the Divine—and what happens next? Resistance. Your human self jumps in, ego in hand, and starts a battle of logic, fear, and control.
Why do we do this?
Let’s ask a few honest questions:
- Are you rebelling?
- Are you trapped in doubt? What belief is feeding that doubt?
- Do you question whether the Universe really values you enough to speak directly to you?
- Are you stuck in your own plan instead of Divine strategy? (Spoiler: only God plans. We strategize.)
Open the Door
The truth is, when we stop fighting, we open the door to ease. I had a friend, Lisa, who listened to Divine guidance —and saved herself hundreds of dollars. Her argument stopped the moment she realized that Divine might actually know more than her spreadsheet.
I’ve been learning to stop the arguing, the resisting, the needing to plan every outcome. And I’ll tell you what I’ve received in return: love, support, and alignment.
The next time you catch yourself resisting Divine guidance, ask: Why? Awareness is the first step toward trust. And trust is the foundation of sacred relationship.
Pillars of Intimacy
I believe our deepest connection with the Divine is built on what I call the Pillars of Intimacy—honesty, reconciliation, sacred time, loyalty, responsibility, fearlessness, and consistency.
Let’s begin with honesty.
Ask yourself: Where in your inner life are you not being honest with yourself?
And then ask: How can I open to more honesty to deepen my bond with the Divine?
This isn’t just personal development—it’s sacred work. You are building the most important relationship of your life: the one with your Soul.
I suggest that you spend some time feeling into the other pillars and see what happens in your world. And, if you want to discuss the Pillars in detail, let’s set up some time to chat. Click here to chat.
This is a great post and very aligned with what I was reminding myself today. These are great questions for journaling! I know what I need to surrender to this week and focus on that. The ego is trying to tell me otherwise. Thanks for the reminder.
You are welcome. And another reminder, ego is trying to keep you safe. If you offer that part of you love…it will quiet down.
