This week, I would like to build on the foundation of the last week’s blog, Tools to Transform. Let’s focus on the “Mind”, this wonderful gift that we have and yet know so little about. It is interesting to me that, while growing up, we learn many things about our world…we learn things such as, The Law of Gravity…The Law of Physics…The Law of Electricity and many other things. We may not have learned everything about these laws, but we do get the general gist. This helps us navigate through life, and we know the general rules that if broken have consequences.
7 Laws Of The Mind
Have you ever become familiar with the Laws of the Mind? Once you read them, you will say “Oh yes, I am familiar with these. I have heard them before.” and yet, it seems that these are the laws that we can easily put aside, or not really understand the application with regard to our everyday and personal life. And yet, and interestingly, by becoming aware of these as “actual laws”, we are borne along a journey that will allow us to become more aware of ourselves and to become aware of tools at our disposal that Can, if we Choose, change our life…our course…So here they are…are you ready?
Seven Laws of the Mind
Law of Substitution
We cannot think about 2 things at the same time. If a negative thought enters your mind ~ try to think about God instead. If that is too big a reach at the time, use any fond memory or other pleasant thought. Jesus, the Master Teacher, said, “Resist not evil” ~ meaning turn from it and think about something else instead.
Law of Relaxation
Mental effort defeats itself ~ exactly the opposite of physical effort. A relaxed, calm state of mind is the only doorway to progress mentally. Relaxation of thought is the only access to Infinite Intelligence.
Law of Practice
Practice makes perfect. The 5Ps – Perfect Practice Prevents Poor Performance. Our bewilderment of magnificence in others, upon further inspection, finds, as Wooden shares “You’ll find most of it is practice, the rest of it is work.” With practice of the correct things, we improve ~ on the other 6 Laws of the Mind.
Law of Forgiveness
To access the Divine and connect the subconscious to the Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent Creator, we must forgive everyone and anyone to clear the channel. There can be no connection to the Divine mind where anger or resentment against a brother or sister, justified or not, exists.
Law of Dual Thought
Thought is a combination of ideation and feeling. We can attach any feeling to a thought we want.
Law of Subconscious
As soon as the subconscious accepts the idea it becomes a demand and it works constantly, 24/7, to manifest demand ~ accessing a reservoir of infinite resources. Law of Growth
What ever we think about grows. What we forget atrophies.
Now that you have read them, I am sure that you are familiar with them…so how does this help us to change or grow?
The first step is awareness…awareness of how we go through our daily lives…pick one and go through a day…observe how this effects you and those around you…No Judging here! Just mindfully move through the day and notice what you notice while thinking on one law. Write down your observations. Do you see the impact that a different choice might make? Do you see how a choice made that adhered to a law worked out? Be KIND to yourself and others…This is an opportunity to learn…
Follow through…
Last week I spoke of Gratitudes Cards. In the Discussion button, I have started a discussion which you are encouraged to write examples of gratitudes in your life…Let’s share the love. Each of us has something to be grateful for however small or large…each of us has the gift to share…we help each other by becoming a force for good by sharing good. In doing this, we focus on the good, the positive. The more this is done, the more good enters our lives. As we share together, we become stronger. We become the sharers of the good, and we are grateful for the good. This allows the good to come into abundance…we feel good and other readers do, too….What a Generous Gift!
I will have a second discussion called the 7 Laws of the Mind. I encourage you to share what you have observed…please, no judging…what do we learn when mindful of these laws? Again, by sharing we help each other.
To Conclude
There are many journeys that we can take. The one most impactful to us and those around us, is the one, that journey within our own minds. Remember that Thoughts are Just Thoughts. They can be changed. (As Louise Hay says) Knowing and Loving ourselves is the first step towards our life of Bliss… whatever that means to you…
Thank you for visiting and please leave your share with Love and Gratitude.
