REFLECTIONS
In my life, I have come from a place of want and need. I have lived in a place where I was conditioned in living in lack.
Then ten years ago, I found that the world that I had carved out for myself was crumbling. I was living a lie, a fantasy. I awakened to the reality that I could no longer pull off the notion that I was “Fine”. I was in a co-dependant relationship. I was suffering physically, spiritually, emotionally and financially. My relationships were suffering, and I was over worked. I discovered that my community could not help me. I had always appeared so strong, while inside, I was closing down and so tired…
This too, was a period of transition. One that I had tried to avoid for so long. It is times like this that refine us…give opportunity to choose. Are we going to embark on a “hero’s journey”? Or are we going to crumble under the weight of our own world?
For me, I choose the “Hero’s Journey”. And now I speak to you from the Heart…
To be clear, this is not a design that, once made, will instantly propel you to another world of your choosing. It is a journey, a learning experience. It is a step-by-step process…after all, was it not a step-by-step process that gets us into these situations?
WHERE TO START?
Hmmmm…Embarking on a Journey of wellness…physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and financially…Where to begin?
Well, let me ask some questions. Do you feel tired? Overwhelmed? Are you strapped emotionally, financially? Are you in Transition?
So what are the steps?
First, recognize that something must change. A person may not know where to begin.
You may be that person who is strong for everyone else, but who is strong for you?
You are likely that person caring for many tasks, perhaps children or elderly, carrying the load of two adults, in a co-dependant relationship.
Perhaps you are overworked and underpaid.
You may be viewed as the “strong one”, the one everyone looks to…meanwhile, you are caving in under the load…
Perhaps you are lonely, lost.
Are you in a place that can not even begin to see a way out of the confusion? Do your days and nights run together?
What do you do??
Is it so overwhelming that you would rather not think of it at all? Are you smiling for the world while inside you are only surviving?
Are you too busy and certainly do not wish to be told what you should be doing or how you should be feeling?
And anyway, if you ask for help, well that is just not a choice…then you appear weak and vulnerable. You might lose grip if the secret gets out!! Oh NO!!!
Well you are not alone. There are so many women out there who know this same story…they live in —— Quiet Desperation
So now what? Well, every journey starts with the first step. It is best to start simple and build from there…forming habits that reflect care for self.
TOOLS
That is what I did…and here are just a few simple suggestions.
- First thing upon rising in the morning. I drink down a tall glass of water that I placed near my bed the night before. This is so healing. I do this mindfully. I think about how this water helps me to care for myself…hydrating every cell in my body so that each cell can have a great start to function properly for the day.
- 3×5 cards are great tools. On these cards I have written, one per card, a positive accomplishment that I have achieved in my life…it can be very small or very large…then I use these. I read them often…these are tools to open my eyes to my value to myself and others…you are a special and unique person, too.
- At the end of each day, I take a few minutes to write on 3 cards, one item on each card, that I am grateful for in that day on each card (total of 3 each day). I blend them into the accomplishment cards…they become part of my healing as I read them out loud to myself each day.
Taking these steps have become so valuable to me and will likely become the same for you as you become more mindful of the care that is needed to remember that you also are worthy of love and safety…and a vibrant and joyful life.
I invite you to look to my next posts as I will continue to share tools and insights. In the mean time, your comments are important to me and so welcome. So let me hear from you.
Who us Laura Greco…
I am dedicated to my Mission:
“To offer solutions for myself and others who are suffering in a place of shame and unworthiness. Offering a chance to experience deep safety and peace, opening the door for worthiness to receive love and wellness—physically, mentally, emotionally, financially and spiritually.”
A great way that I have helped myself physically and financially is that I became more mindful of shopping for personal care items and cleaners for my home and nutrition. In my journey, I was introduced to a shopping store that has wellness as it’s focus at very affordable pricing. This was a tremendous aid to my healthier lifestyle journey physically. I love and endorse this company completely, because I believe that all people should have the choice for a safer healthier lifestyle that saves us time and money and the best part is, they have our backs with safety and product performance.
